Therapeutic touch from a licensed massage therapist, a visit from a trained pet therapy dog, someone to come and bless your home with peaceful music...all of these wonderful "extras" are part of Hospice of Spokane's way of caring for you and your loved ones. We call it our Complimentary Therapy Program.

Grief Support Services
Caring for the grieving is part of our mission here at Hospice of Spokane. Free support groups are open to anyone in the community who is dealing with the loss of a loved one. We even have special programs for kids. (more)

Medicare benefits

Hospice care is covered under Medicare Part A.  When using the Hospice Medicare benefit, standard Medicare benefits are waived only for treatment of the terminal illness. For all other health care problems, Medicare Part A and B may still be used.  The Medicare Hospice benefit pays for:

•Physician services
•Nursing services
•Social worker services
•Home Health Aide services
•Spiritual counseling
•Bereavement counseling
•Volunteer services
•Prescriptions for pain control and symptom relief
•Medical equipment (such as wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
•Medical supplies such as bandages, catheters, etc.)
•Short term care in the hospital if needed
•Short term respite care if needed
•Dietary counseling
•Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy
