The holidays can be an especially tough time for those dealing with grief. Here's some tools & tips that may be helpful.
Remembering Loved Ones
If you want to make a contribution in memory or honor of someone, we would be privileged to help you. There are many ways to give that will both help fulfill our mission and honor your loved one.

Memorial traditions are a healthy way to remember and honor our loved ones. Find out more simple ways to remember those we have lost.

Bereavement support groups

Groups are open to everyone in our community at no charge. All groups are facilitated by master’s-level counselors or professional chaplains and take place at Hospice of Spokane unless otherwise noted.

Spouse/Partner Grief Support Group
For those dealing with the loss of a spouse through death.
Wednesdays, 1:00-2:15 PM at Hospice of Spokane

General Grief Support Group

For those dealing with any loss through death.
General Group: Mondays, 6:00-7:00 PM at Hospice of Spokane
East Central Group: Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 PM at the East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St.
Fairwinds Group: Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00 PM at the Fairwinds Retirement Community, 520 E. Holland Ave.
North Side Group: Tuesdays, 1:30-2:30 PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division
South Side Group: Mondays, 3:30-4:30 PM at the South Side Senior Activity Center, 3151 E 27th
Spokane Valley Group: Thursdays, 1:30-2:30 PM at the Spokane Valley Senior Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place

Loss of a Child Support Group

For those dealing with the loss of a child (any age, including adult) through death. Open to any adults who were involved in the child’s life.
Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 PM at Hospice of Spokane

Survivors of a Loved One’s Suicide
For those friends and family who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 PM, at Hospice of Spokane

Connections Child/Parent Grief Support Group
Children's group, ages 6-18. Adult group runs concurrently for parents, guardians, or other adults grieving children. Child care can be arranged for children 5 and under.
Dates & Times:
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 PM
Fall begins October 12, 2011
Winter begins January 18, 2012
Spring begins April 11, 2012

Newly Bereaved Class
A three week informational introductory class on the grieving process beginning each month on the first, second and third Thursdays.
Thursdays, 1:30-3:00 PM at Hospice of Spokane
